General Warranty Principle
This warranty covers the quality of Galaxy Facade's installation workmanship. It does not automatically cover every component, material property, or problem occurring after project handover.
We inspect the site, determine whether the issue falls within the warranty scope, and carry out the necessary repair or rectification where covered.
The issue falls outside our workmanship warranty and may fall under another party's responsibility or a manufacturer warranty, depending on the nature of the condition.
What the Workmanship Warranty Covers
Coverage is strictly focused on defects directly attributable to installation workmanship carried out by Galaxy Facade on applicable projects.
ACP Cladding Workmanship
Coverage includes installation workmanship issues directly attributable to Galaxy Facade, such as:
- Incorrect panel fixing
- Installation-related panel alignment issues
- Loose or poorly fixed components
- Installation-related joint or sealant workmanship issues
- Installation-related water leakage where directly attributable to Galaxy Facade's work
- Workmanship defects affecting the installed ACP system's alignment or weather performance
Structural Glazing Workmanship
Coverage includes installation workmanship issues directly attributable to Galaxy Facade, such as:
- Glass that wasn't set or supported correctly
- Setting blocks misplaced or damaged during installation
- Loose or poorly fixed aluminium components
- Frame misalignment caused by installation
- Sealant or structural silicone application errors on our part
- Water leakage traced back to our installation work
- Loose pressure plates, caps, cleats, brackets, or fasteners
- Joint finishing issues linked to workmanship
- Workmanship defects affecting installed system alignment or weather performance where directly attributable to installation
Scope Clarification: Workmanship coverage addresses the quality and correctness of the physical installation work executed by our team. It does not constitute an unlimited structural performance guarantee or a blanket material lifetime warranty.
Manufacturer Warranties vs. Workmanship Warranty
This workmanship warranty is separate from manufacturer warranties covering glass, sealants, silicone, aluminium profiles, hardware, ACP panels or other materials.
Galaxy Facade is an installation and facade engineering contractor, not the manufacturer of the raw materials, aluminium extrusions, glass sheets, or composite panels. Material quality, factory finishes, colour retention, chemical stability, and inherent product integrity remain governed by the respective product manufacturers' warranty documentation.
Galaxy Facade does not claim manufacturer authority and cannot automatically approve, alter, or control manufacturer warranty claims on behalf of third-party producers.
Design & Engineering Responsibility
Commercial facade and structural glazing projects typically involve multiple professional disciplines, including architects, structural engineers, facade consultants, materials manufacturers, specialist installers, and main civil contractors.
Galaxy Facade's workmanship warranty covers its installation work. Where design drawings, structural calculations, or architectural specifications are provided by the client or their appointed professional consultants, installation is carried out based strictly on those approved documents.
Primary design and engineering responsibilities—such as structural calculations, wind load design, glass thickness and type specification, overall system engineering, and substrate structural capacity—remain with the responsible design professional unless Galaxy Facade has specifically agreed in writing to assume that engineering responsibility for the contract.
What the Warranty Does Not Cover (Exclusions)
To ensure transparent expectations, the following conditions, events, and issues fall outside the scope of Galaxy Facade's 12-month installation workmanship warranty:
Damage & Misuse
- Glass breakage resulting from impact, accidents, vandalism, thermal shock, or misuse
- Surface or joint damage from harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning tools, or improper pressure washing
Manufacturing Defects
- Manufacturing defects in glass, IGUs (insulated glass units), laminated or coated glass
- Manufacturing defects in aluminium extrusions, hardware, brackets, or sealants
- Defects or failures in client-supplied or third-party materials
Building & Structural Conditions
- Building settlement, structural foundation movement, or seismic shifts
- Floor slab deflection beyond normal engineering tolerances
- Pre-existing, inadequate, or unrelated substrate structural problems
Design Responsibility
- Architectural design errors or omissions provided by third parties
- Structural calculation and load capacity issues outside our agreed scope of work
Third-Party Work & Alterations
- Damage caused by other trades, contractors, or third parties on site
- Unauthorised drilling, modifications, cutting, or alterations after project handover
- Later-installed signage, fixtures, lighting, or equipment affecting the facade or glazing
External & Natural Events
- Cyclones, hurricanes, extreme wind events exceeding design codes
- Floods, water table surges, fire, lightning strikes, or other natural disasters
Environmental & Normal Conditions
- Corrosion from marine salt air or incompatible third-party metals unrelated to workmanship
- Chemical atmospheric exposure unrelated to installation work
- Condensation or indoor humidity conditions caused by building ventilation design or usage
- Everyday environmental wear, minor visual variations, and normal thermal joint movement
Other Building Elements
- Water ingress originating from concrete slabs, masonry, waterproofing membranes, roofing, parapet copings, adjoining windows, or unrelated building elements
Recommended Maintenance Guidelines
Proper facade care supports ongoing weather resistance and long-term durability. We recommend conducting a routine visual inspection at least twice a year, ideally before and immediately following the monsoon season.
Visual Inspection Checklist
- Check for cracking, shrinkage, or peeling in silicone and sealant joints
- Inspect glass edges and setting perimeters for unexpected movement or chipping
- Confirm pressure plates, cover caps, brackets, and visible fasteners remain secure
- Verify drainage weep holes and internal weep paths remain clear of debris and insect blockages
- Look for unusual corrosion, chemical staining, or exterior water run marks
- Examine perimeter junctions where the facade interfaces with roofs, parapets, side masonry, and window frames
Cleaning Guidance
Use clean water and manufacturer-approved neutral cleaning solutions. Avoid sharp metal tools, abrasive scrubbing pads, strong acids, aggressive solvents, and unapproved high-pressure power washers that can dislodge sealant beads or damage surface finishes.
Notice: Unauthorised structural or physical modifications to the glazing or cladding system after project handover can compromise performance and affect warranty coverage.
How to Raise a Warranty Claim
If you observe an issue during the 12-month warranty period that you believe is attributable to our installation workmanship, please initiate a claim with the following information:
Project name, commercial building address, and exact site location.
Date of practical completion or project handover documentation.
Clear explanation of the observed issue, affected elevation, and specific area.
Clear, well-lit photos and short videos showing the affected joint, panel, or glass area.
The date the issue was first noticed and any recent weather events associated with it.
Details of any nearby repair, signage installation, or third-party trade activity in the area.
Site Inspection & Rectification Process
Upon receiving your claim details, Galaxy Facade will schedule a site inspection within a reasonable timeframe. If the technical inspection confirms that the defect is directly attributable to Galaxy Facade's installation workmanship, our team will carry out the necessary repair or rectification work in accordance with the warranty terms.
Important Clarification
Duration & Nature: This policy constitutes a 12-month workmanship warranty from the date of practical completion or project handover. It is not a substitute for manufacturer warranties covering materials, nor is it a promise of unlimited service life or total structural performance under all conditions.
Professional Boundaries: Where architectural design, structural calculations, material specifications, or specialized laboratory testing were provided by the architect, structural engineer, consultant, or manufacturer, that technical responsibility remains with them unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.
Remedy Scope: If a workmanship defect is confirmed to be directly attributable to Galaxy Facade's installation work, Galaxy Facade will inspect and repair or rectify the affected installation in accordance with these warranty terms. The warranty does not extend to indirect losses, commercial downtime, business interruption, or consequential damages unless separately agreed in writing.
